DONATION POLICY
DONATIONS:
1.) All items and monies donated to LSMC are donated to the church. It is the church’s
discretion to use the donations as they wish, or decline a donation which is unneeded.
A receipt will be given to the one who donates item(s).
When a receipt is given, it is given without a value stated. It is the one making the
donation who is responsible to assess fair market value for tax purposes.
The policy that the church will use donations as they wish should be made clear to the
potential donor at the outset. If the donor does not agree, he / she can decide not to
make the donation.
2.) LSMC encourages its members to not ask for or make loans individually within the church body,
but rather bring that need to the attention of the Caring Committee or Leadership Team. LSMC will
not make loans, but can refer persons to Everence and serve as a co-signer in necessary situations.
This policy serves as a safeguard to preserve better relationships between members and
discourage financial transactions which could become difficult or on-going.
